A Custom Pink Toile Anchored the Design of This Chic Pink Georgetown Wedding

A life-size topiary horse was a gesture to the bride’s mom’s McLean stationery shop, the Preppy Pink Pony.

Justin says he knew JC was the one by the end of their first date—a stroll through the National Museum of Natural History followed by brunch at Café Riggs. About a year later, they decided to marry.

The color pink and a custom toile design anchored the Georgetown couple’s October wedding, which included toile tambourines and parasols for the second-line procession from the church to the reception; a toile-wrapped bar; toile linens and monogrammed napkins; toile stationery and signs; pink floral china lent by JC’s grandmother; and pink Champagne for the toast. Among other special details was a life-size topiary horse—its design a gesture to the bride’s mom’s McLean stationery shop, the Preppy Pink Pony. Rather than signature cocktails, JC and Justin treated guests to a made-to-order martini bar. Later, the groom sabered a bottle of Champagne—a St. Regis tradition—to kick off dinner service. The after-party featured a playful nod to the couple’s married name via a VOTE KLINE political theme, including cookies and buttons, plus an appearance by the Washington Nationals’ Racing Presidents.
