Ivy, a financial services professional from China, and Lance, a management consultant from Taiwan, met as MBA students and shared a first date at Thinking Cup in Boston. Three and a half years later, Lance proposed at the Jefferson Memorial following Ivy’s return from a year abroad. Nine months after that, the Arlington couple married in a wedding they called “classic, effortless, and chic.”
The August affair featured a soft pastel color scheme of dusty blue, lavender, soft yellow, and cream. Her favorite part was the first dance; his was the exchange of vows. Dinner included a salad followed by a choice of grilled salmon, braised short rib, or pasta primavera, and for dessert, a chocolate buttercream cake with Ferrero Rocher filling, with espresso martinis and sparkling red wine sangria for signature cocktails. Following the celebration, guests took home small red Chinese favor boxes of candy.
