A Colorful Waterfront Wedding With Mixed-Mixed-and-Matched Place-Setting Designs

If you love a bright, cheery design you have to see this Annapolis celebration.

Though they’re from the same town in Howard County—and knew each other in elementary school—Gillie, a speech-language pathologist, and Ben, a consultant, didn’t start dating until after college. Two and a half years after their first date at a Mexican restaurant in Bethesda, Ben popped the question on the beach in Rehoboth.

For their waterfront wedding in June—officiated by their high-school English teacher—the pair say they wanted an affair filled with family, friends, joy, and lots of color. Pinks, purples, blues, greens, and orange combined for a vibrant design that included bright florals in plentiful arrangements, including two oversize arches in the reception tent; signature cocktails—Aperol spritzes and Painkillers—served in pink coupe glasses; a pink bar at cocktail hour and two blue bars at the reception; three mixed-and-matched table and place-setting designs; and teal-velvet chairs at the head table. The dinner menu included crabcakes, filets, and, for dessert, red-velvet wedding cake.
