Isabelle and Krunal met during their first year of medical school at Duke. He says he felt immediately pulled toward her, and she says he felt like home. Five years after their first date at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, the Durham couple got engaged.
They returned to the bride’s home turf for the intimate outdoor wedding they’d envisioned in the Virginia Piedmont, with Goodstone Inn’s sustainable farm, beehives, and resident llama setting the scene. The couple’s sage-and-amber color scheme carried through the florals, with seasonal, locally grown flowers in natural, unstructured arrangements. Highlights at the reception were signature cocktails that included whiskey sours based on Ina Garten’s recipe and a French Blonde elderflower concoction, plus a farm-to-table meal inspired by the venue’s gardens. The most memorable splurge: an epic dance floor, the newlyweds say, where “the world’s best band” kept loved ones on their feet through the night.
