A Chic Pink-Magnolia-Infused Springtime Engagement Session in DC

Planning your own engagement photos? These will have you trading the Cherry Blossoms crowds for another spring stunner.

Photographs by Jennie Raff Photography

Sophia, a judicial law clerk from Laguna Beach, and John, a real estate associate from Tucson, officially connected on Hinge a month after first spotting one another at Pearl Dive Oyster Palace’s upstairs bar, Tilt. She thought he was charming, funny, and charismatic. He says he knew immediately that he was looking at his future wife. Two years later, John proposed in Sophia’s California hometown, where her loved ones—including friends and family John had secretly flown in for the occasion—were waiting to celebrate with a dinner party.

The pair will exchange “I dos” at the Perry Belmont House in October, but their April engagement session—which took place at the Jefferson Memorial, the nearby saucer magnolia trees, and the Riggs hotel—was one for the books. See the photos below.
