A November Wedding at Meridian House With a Hot Chocolate Station

The celebration featured a "warm and cozy" theme.

Attorneys Jen and Sam say they met in law school and fell in love playing pickleball. Three years after a first date that included dinner in Chicago, they were dating long distance—Jen in Chicago and Sam in DC—when they got engaged.

For their winter wedding at Meridian House, they chose a “warm and cozy” theme, with a burgundy-and-rose color scheme. Jen says her favorite part was being surrounded by people she loves from different periods of her life (and, she adds, the couple’s “incredible photographer”); Sam loved the high-energy band. Other highlights of the day included the floral installation going up the venue’s staircase; having each of their mothers speak at the ceremony; and dessert, which included a funfetti cake with buttercream, a dessert bar, boozy milkshakes, plus cookies from a bakery in Taiwan.

Following the wedding, the newlyweds honeymooned in Japan. See the photos of their wedding day below.
