About Perfect Saturdays
Looking for something to do this weekend? These great day trips are within a two-hour drive of DC.
For leaf-peeping that actually takes you into the tree canopy, head to Adventure Park at Sandy Spring, a massive aerial park in Montgomery County. The high-flying course features bridges, obstacles, platforms, and 35 zip lines that wind through a forest. Different trail options are available so you can go on a self-guided journey at the challenge level of your choice. Step into a harness and then explore the leafy landscape, which is particularly scenic this time of year. The courses take around three hours to complete. Tickets are $69 for adults, $59 for kids ages seven to 11, and $22 for six year olds. Spots must be reserved in advance.
After swinging through the trees, make the 10-minute drive to 168 Asian Burrito, a no-frills sushi burrito spot hidden in an Olney gas station. Sheets of seaweed and rice are wrapped around fillings such as crab salad, tuna with sweet garlic sauce, or chicken teriyaki for an easy handheld meal. The restaurant also serves bao buns and milk tea.
