Trick-or-treating on Embassy Row is a longstanding tradition in DC. This year, we found four embassies that will be open to candy seekers on Friday, October 30. It’s the same number as last year, though still a drop from the seven locations that welcomed trick-or-treaters in 2024.
Despite the recent ebb in embassy participation, trick-or-treaters can still find sweet treats along Massachusetts Avenue. Times vary by location. The Embassy of Portugal will welcome revelers during its regular business hours, and the Embassy of Colombia is passing out candy from 2 PM until it closes at 6 PM. Meanwhile, Belize and Greece are staying open past their usual hours to welcome costumed visitors. If you need to warm up, grab some coffee from the Colombian Embassy for your stroll. Supplies are limited, so get to the offices as early as you can.
