A Late-Night Ramen Wall Was a Highlight of This Winter Wedding

The couple skipped the flowers and opted for a design full of candles instead.

Stacy, director of partnerships at Sportfive, and Dustin, director of global pricing at Hilton, met on Hinge. At the time, they were living in Dallas—where they both grew up—but soon after, Stacy took a job in New York, and Dustin got a role that moved him to the DC area. They dated long-distance for a year before Covid hit, at which point they hunkered down together in a studio apartment. Eventually, they officially moved in together in DC, and got engaged.

For their January wedding, the pair envisioned a modern and elegant affair with a black-and-white color scheme accented by plum bridesmaids dresses. “We wanted everything to be clean lines with subtle pops of color,” they say. They skipped florals almost completely—save for the bouquets of lilies held at the ceremony—and opted for a design full of candlelight. Their favorite part, Stacy and Dustin agree, was finding ways to celebrate and showcase their respective Korean and Taiwanese cultures—starting with Korean and Taiwanese tea ceremonies on Friday at Queen’s English. The celebration on Saturday featured a Shin ramen wall (plus a bedazzled Shin ramen purse Stacy made for her bachelorette party); handmade Korean tassels (known as norigae) on the place cards; and welcome bags with the couple’s favorite Korean and Taiwanese snacks. Other special details included the crest that Stacy’s sister designed featuring the couple’s dogs, Roman and Tank, draping that they say made the space feel elegant and serene, and a “Coffee in the Morning” cake for dessert, made with chocolate cake, Italian coffee-meringue buttercream, and coffee caramel. See the details of their big day below.
