A Scenic, Summer Elopement in Great Falls Park

Just two weeks after the groom proposed on a hike, the couple exchanged vows in the same spot.

After mingling for a while as part of the same circle at work, Kathryn, an HR professional from Philly, and Christian, an operations manager from Ohio, eventually formed their own connection.

On first impressions, she was drawn to his quiet confidence and he thought she was smart and playfully silly. Last summer, Christian proposed while the pair were overlooking the waterfalls on a hike at Great Falls Park—a moment Kathryn describes as peaceful, scenic, and completely unforgettable. 

Two weeks later, the Arlington pair went back to Great Falls Park to marry in an intimate, nature-focused elopement. Their priority for the day, they say, was to keep it simple and meaningful: “Just the two of us, the scenery of Great Falls, and the moment.” Following the big day, the newlyweds honeymooned in Islamorada in the Florida Keys.
