Where to Watch the Winter Olympics Around the DC Area

Bars are hosting watch parties with big screens, shot-skis, and Italy-inspired cocktails.

The 2026 Winter Olympics kick off on February 6, starting with the opening ceremony at 2 PM. If you can’t travel to Milan or Cortina d’Ampezzo, you can still catch the action at DC-area bars streaming the games and offering themed specials.

The Midlands Beer Garden

3333 Georgia Ave., NW

The beer garden is hosting a watch party for the opening ceremony on February 6 at 2 PM. Specials include $5 pints and $10 steins, and they’re breaking out the shot-ski in celebration of winter sports. (That’s a ski affixed with shot glasses on top.) The ceremony will be streamed indoors and outdoors, and the bar is also showing various events throughout the games.

Head to the Bitcoin bar at 3 PM on February 6 to watch the opening ceremonies. Then, at 8 PM, channel ’80s ski resort vibes at an aprés ski-themed party. There will be a DJ and costume contest awarding the best throwback ski outfits.

Dacha Beer Garden

79 Potomac Ave., SE; 1600 7th St., NW

Feeling competitive? The Navy Yard location is hosting opening ceremony bingo at 8 PM. Meanwhile, the Shaw location is opening its private event space for a watch party on the projector at 3 PM. A DJ starts playing music at 8 PM, and those who attend wearing ski gear can enter a raffle to win tickets toUmphrey’s McGee’s concert next week.

Atlas Brew Works

2429 Mandeville Lane, Alexandria; 600 Howard Rd., SE; 1201 Half St., SE

It’s not just athletes winning bling: Some of the breweries’ beers have also earned medals. Drink the award-winning beers with a $2.50 discount, including Silent Neighbor, a former World Beer Cup gold medalist. Sports will also be streamed at prime time.

Buddy’s

3234 11th St., NW

White Russians and spiked hot chocolate are on the opening ceremony menu at this sports bar in Columbia Heights. The watch party starts at 8 PM on February 6 and will be displayed across televisions, including the large projection screen. Don’t miss out on the action: The bar is streaming the Olympic events live.

Madhatter

1319 Connecticut Ave., NW

If you can “split the G,” stop by the Dupont Circle bar for Guinness Olympics. Winners get a medal and a hot dog. Team USA-themed specials include $5 red, white, and blue Jell-O shots, and they’re breaking out the shot-ski.

Settle Down Easy Brewing

2822 Fallfax Dr., Falls Church; 2952 Chain Bridge Rd., Oakton

Cheer on your team across three screens at the Falls Church location and eight TVs at the Oakton tasting room. Food and drink specials rotate daily.

Metrobar

640 Rhode Island Ave., NE

The transit-themed bar is playing a constant stream of the games. Pair cold sports with a hot toddy or mulled wine.

Jake’s Tavern

1606 7th St., NW

In honor of host cities Milan and Cortina, the Shaw bar is offering a series of Italy-inspired cocktails, including a Hugo Spritz and Bombardino. They’re also offering $3 Michelob Ultra in homage to Team USA.

Arlo Hotel

333 G St., NW

For a more upscale viewing experience, the downtown DC hotel is streaming the games in the lounge. Coffee drinks and cocktails are inspired by the Olympics’ Italian setting.

Shaw’s Tavern

520 Florida Ave., NW
Starting at 8 PM on February 6, the bar is streaming the opening ceremonies. Drink specials are inspired by the medals; sip the Aperol “Gold Medal Spritz” or a “Silver Slopes Negroni.” The Shaw bar is also streaming events throughout the games.

Screens cover the walls at these Bethesda and U Street sports bars, and you can catch all the Olympic coverage with the sound on.
