As part of this new series, “A Perfect Day,” we asked Sara Azani and Arash Shirazi—the couple behind Compass’s R Collective, and parents to eight-year-old twins—how an ideal day in their neighborhood looks. Here’s what they said.
6:30 AM
A workout at Equinox for Arash.
8:30 AM
Camp/school drop-off for their eight-year-old twins.
9 AM
A trip to nearby Bethesda Row for a coffee meeting at Eat Sprout for Arash. And for Sara, a morning workout at 1to1 Fitness in Potomac Village—”The trainers are excellent and can work in tandem with physical therapists when needed, which makes it an easy place to stay consistent. Lately I’ve been focused on weight training, so it is the perfect setup for a strong, efficient session before a full schedule of client meetings and showings.”Afterward, it’s time for a protein smoothie and breakfast at Pura Vida—“a reliable local spot for something healthy, with great coffee and an easy in-and-out.”
11 AM
Time in the office—first their home office, “handling client communication, preparing for upcoming appointments, and reviewing market activity ahead of the day,” says Sara. Then at the Compass Potomac office, “to finalize and print presentation materials.”
1 PM
Listing appointments and afternoon showings—most recently an afternoon dedicated to showings in River Falls, “a neighborhood that continues to attract buyers for its established homes, larger lots, and convenient access to both Potomac Village and Washington, DC,” says Sara.
4 PM
A stop at Occasions gift store and Hall of Fame Cards & Collectibles at the Cabin John Mall to get birthday gifts for the weekend’s parties. Then, refueling at Pura Vida Coffee.
4:30 PM
School/camp pick-up.
5:30 PM
Dinner picked up from Kema by Kenaki Sushi at Cabin John Village, “a go-to for an easy meal that the kids love as well. The crispy tuna rice and spicy avocado rolls are favorites,” says Sara. “Or if we are wanting to do a quick family dinner out, it’s burgers at Duke’s Grocery and we sit outside. Their burgers are amazing.”
