Where to Find Heart-Shaped Treats This Valentine’s Day

No need to be subtle with these mooncakes, macarons, and more

Whether you find them cheesy or adorably, heart-shaped foods are everywhere this Valentine’s Day. Here are a few worth seeking out. 

Casta’s Rum Bar

This Cuban bar will sell heart-shaped empanadas all month long in beef, chicken, or vegetable flavors. Share two for $13.

Paisano’s

The pizza chain is offering heart-shaped pizzas with any toppings you’d like, including their new hot honey pizza. Only available between Feb. 9 and 15.

Olivia Macaron

These dessert shops will offer heart-shaped French macarons in lychee rose raspberry or strawberry vanilla flavors. (As always, the pastries are gluten-free.) Want to send them to someone special? Olivia Macron’s offers same-day delivery and national shipping. Available until Feb. 15.

Love, Makoto

Within this collection of Japanese eateries, everything is love-themed. At Love on the Run, there are heart-shaped doughnuts available all year, but for Valentine’s Day, there is a special strawberry-glazed doughnut that can be filled with matcha, vanilla, and more. For sushi lovers, heart-shaped boxes filled with maki rolls, nigiri, and mini doughnuts (again, heart-shaped!) are available for pick-up if ordered before Feb. 13. And if you plan on dining in, Dear Sushi has heart-shaped soy ramekins for some extra love.

This allergy-friendly, vegan bakery is offering up two different heart-shaped sweet treats this season. Enjoy their almond Linzer cookies (in a set of six) or their five-inch red velvet cakes with cream cheese frosting. Both are available for pre-order with 48-hours notice.

This Asian and French fusion bakery and pop-up, found at several farmers markets, is serving up heart-shaped mooncakes (lychee raspberry and chestnut Earl grey), croissants (mixed berry with vanilla pastry cream), and milk breads (coconut custard and crumble). Available until Feb. 15.

On your way to the National Zoo, check out this nut-free and kosher dessert shop. The bakery is offering black and white cookies shaped in a heart. Heart-shaped jumbo cake pops that come in birthday, red velvet, or chocolate flavors are also available.
