Popping open a little cardboard window for a piece of generic chocolate is a beloved way for small kids to count down the days before Christmas—but it’s a tradition most generally grow out of. These days though, more brands are drawing adults back to the advent calendar concept with 12- to 25-day decadent or otherwise adult-centric calendars for grownups to enjoy. One of DC’s favorite breweries is offering an Atlas Beer Advent Calendar Box—a mix of 12 beers including the brewery’s core beers, seasonal releases, and other fan favorites, plus some duplicates mixed in—in a countdown-style box. The box will be available for pickup beginning November 30. $65 at Atlas Brew Works.
Paste & Rind
This H Street wine bar and cheese shop is offering two holiday cheese collections: the 12 Days of Cheesemas, and the 8 Cheeses of Hannukah, each featuring a range of cheeses. The 12-piece box is $85, and the 8-piece collection is $65, with online ordering for local pickup at Paste & Rind Cheese Co.
Brookland Fine Wine & Spirits
This “Tasty Wine Advent Calendar” includes nine wines in 12 cans, and at press time, was in stock locally—$19 at Brookland Fine Wine & Spirits.

The 2025 “Limited Edition 24 Days of Treats Advent Calendar” advent calendar holds 24 of the brand’s sweet treats, from milk chocolate truffles and mints, to shortbread cookies, and more. $180 at HarryandDavid.com.

Bethesda-based Total Wine’s 2025 “Embark on a Wine Adventure” advent calendar features a sampling of two dozen single-serving bottles of wine. $80 at TotalWine.com.

There is a total of three pounds of sweet and savory popcorn in this advent calendar, where 24 surprises are either a bag or kernels or seasonings. $80 at Williams-Sonoma.com.
Capital Candy Jar
Coming soon, this local chocolate shop will launch 24-piece Christmas Cheer- and Winter Wonderland-themed advent calendars, each including a variety of the dark- and milk-chocolate truffles. $61 each at CapitalCandyJar.com

In a box reminiscent of traditional chocolate advent calendars, Godiva’s “2025 Holiday Classic Chocolate Advent Calendar” includes an assortment of 24 milk, dark, and white holiday chocolates. $58 at Godiva.

Bloomingdale’s
This 25-day beauty-centric advent calendar from Bloomingdale’s claims to be an $800 value, and includes products from such brands as La Mer, Charlotte Tilbury, Diptyque, Shiseido, and Kiehl’s. $325 at Bloomingdale’s, and available locally at the Wisconsin Place, Chevy Chase location.

Charlotte Tilbury’s “Beauty Treasure Chest” 2025 12-door beauty holiday advent calendar includes 12 beauty, makeup, and skincare products—5 are full sized, and 7 are minis. $220 at CharlotteTilbury.com.
Dior
The 2025 “Le 30 Montaigne Dior Beauty Advent Calendar” is inspired by the brand’s historic boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne, and includes 24 fragrance, makeup, and skincare miniatures—plus a candle. There’s currently a waitlist, and the 2024 version was $750 at Dior.com.
Olive & June
For 2025, Olive & June is offering both Christmas (“25 Days of Mani Magic”) and Hanukkah-themed (“8 Nights of Mani Magic”) advent calendars, each featuring a different variety of polishes, plus nail polish remover, a buffer, dry drops, cuticle serum, nail-art stickers, press-on nails, and more.
