Dr. Bob Kumra was born in Washington, DC and raised in nearby Falls Church, Virginia. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, he returned to Washington to complete his dental education and orthodontic residency at Howard University College of Dentistry. Today, he serves as a Clinical Instructor in Howard University’s Department of Orthodontics, helping educate the next generation of orthodontists. With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kumra is proud to care for the community where he grew up.

Dr. Kumra is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is the first and only Edward H. Angle Society orthodontist practicing in Washington, DC. Membership in the Edward H. Angle Society is by invitation only and is considered one of the highest distinctions in the orthodontic profession. Named after the father of modern orthodontics, the Society recognizes orthodontists who have demonstrated exceptional clinical skill through years of peer review, presentation of completed treatment cases before a board of examiners, and completion of original scientific research.
