This Couple Wanted Their Wedding Guests to Feel Like Movie Stars on the Dance Floor

The Virginia wedding's theme was "enchanted garden meets Hollywood."

Sabrina and Julian met as students at Alabama State University. After spotting one another around campus a few times, they met up at the River Walk in downtown Montgomery where they talked for hours about their dreams, goals, and hobbies. They became best friends, and one year later, things turned romantic. Eventually, Julian proposed while the pair were vacationing in San Francisco.

For their summer wedding, the couple envisioned an “enchanted garden meets Hollywood” theme.  Personalize programs featuring fun facts about the couple and their relationship were a favorite detail of the ceremony, and florals were another important part for Sabrina, whose childhood memories include making flower crowns, and being pulled the flower aisles of a plant nursery in a wagon by her mother. For a reception “vibe switch,” they chose pin lights, spotlights, dry ice, and a great DJ—all designed to make all the guests feel like movie stars on the dance floor. “My favorite moment,” says Julian, “was when the DJ played Swag Surfin’ and I locked arms with my wife and all my loved ones. We began to rock from left to right in unison and went crazy when the beat dropped! I get chills just thinking about that.” At the end of the evening, an ice cream was the cherry on top of the wedding day—”a little slice of joy on wheels.”
