Bakers, get your whisks ready. This fall, King Arthur Baking Company is set to launch a permanent store and baking school in Alexandria’s Old Town. They’ll offer cooking classes, private events, community gatherings, as well as ingredients and baking equipment for sale.
This will be the company’s first combined school and store location outside of Vermont. Previously, King Arthur has hosted pop-up locations in Fairfax and Bethesda, both of which sold the brand’s products. The location’s event space can host birthday parties, fundraisers, and other events, along with publicly offered baking classes.
The location’s baking school will be led by Amber Eisler, King Arthur’s Director of Baking Education, who is also a DC native. She and other expert instructors will offer classes for beginners and experienced bakers “covering everything from bread baking and pastry to seasonal favorites and specialty skills,” Ethan White, King Arthur’s Director of Retail Expansion, tells Washingtonian. In addition to selling King Arthur’s products, White says the storefront will also offer products from other baking and kitchen brands.
Stay tuned for an official opening date.
