6 Pride Events for Sapphics in DC This Weekend

Pride Month isn’t over yet. Sapphics, if you’re still looking to celebrate, here’s a list of queer and lesbian events to round out your June. 

Draw Me Like One of Your Gay Girls

Where: 1830 Columbia Rd., NW

When: Thursday, June 25 at 7 PM

Price: $60.

Have you ever found yourself wanting to gift your girlfriend or partner a heart-wrenchingly beautiful portrait? Garlic Girl Vintage in Adams Morgan is hosting a queer figure drawing class to give you the opportunity. 

Pride Mini Ball

Where: 2007 14th St., NW

When: Thursday, June 25 at 9 PM

Price: Free.

Organizer GirliepopDC is throwing a mini ball at Crush Dance Bar on U Street. Attendees of all experience levels are invited to walk in several sickening categories: face, runway, best dressed, performance, GNC delight, shake that ass, and sex siren. The event’s MC is The Legendary Isis Juicy Couture. 

Femmes vs. Mascs Singles Mixer

Where: 500 8th St., SE

When: Friday, June 26 from 10 PM to 2 AM

Price: Free.

LGBTQ+ bar As You Are is bringing femmes and mascs together and giving attendees glow bracelets: green if you’re single, yellow if you’re poly or open, and red if you’re just there to make friends. 

Pride Standup Comedy Show

Where: 2309 18th St., NW

When: Saturday, June 27 at 6:30 PM

Price: $10.

Montenegro Comedy is organizing a pride comedy show at Adams Morgan bar Sinners and Saints. The headline act is standup comic Marcela Onyango, who often jokes about the news. 

Queer Fashion Show

Where: 1353 H St., NE

When: Saturday, June 27 at 7 PM

Price: $10.

Event organizers QueerTalk DC and clothing brand DykeMint are hosting a fashion show at H Street venue Transmission. Doors open at 6 PM and those who stick around after the show can join a rooftop afterparty. The afterparty features a night market from 6 PM to 10 PM with queer vendors.

Black Queer Garden Party

Where: Southeast DC (location revealed after tickets are purchased)

When: Sunday, June 28 from 2 PM to 6 PM

Price: $75.

Lesbifriends, a travel group for queer people of color, and florist Taylor Made Blooms are throwing an outdoor party for Black Lesbians and queer folks to sip spritzes, snack on charcuterie, and put together bouquets. Music is courtesy of local artist KattLandia.
