Dr. Asmir I. Syed is a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist. He has been recognized by Washingtonian magazine’s Top Doctor in Maryland, Virginia, and DC for many years. He graduated from the Georgetown University/WHC Program. Dr. Syed, along with his experienced staff sees patients from all over the Washington area. He has privileges at many regional hospitals in the area. Patients are evaluated for Heart Disorders (chest pain, history of heart attack or stents, irregular heartbeat, palpitations) and Vascular disorders (varicose veins, diabetic foot, leg cramps or swelling and peripheral artery disease). Dr. Syed believes in minimally invasive procedures and advocates preventative therapy as the first line of defense. Dr. Syed believes creating a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient starting with holistic preventive plan that includes diet, proper nutrition, exercise, and wellness. He is an expert in vascular procedures, cardiac catheterization and coronary and peripheral angioplasty. He has done thousands of procedures throughout his career and has vast experience in this field. He has been involved in landmark clinical trials and published numerous papers in prestigious journals. He has given oral presentations at many conferences including the American College of Cardiology and international conferences.
