Anne Marie Carullo and Jonathan (Jon) Tipa’s wedding embraces some of our favorite aspects of preppy, Eastern Shore weddings: gorgeous vintage furniture on the lush green grass, a cigar bar, and adorable Moscow Mule mug cocktails. Though Anne Marie wasn’t all that happy to see Jon when they first met—her friends had set them up by arranging for him to crash their girls’ night out—it didn’t take long for her to warm up to him. By the end of the night, the pair had taken over the dance floor. On their first date, Jon showed how confident he was in their relationship’s future success by telling the waiter at The Capital Grille to remember their table, because they might be back for their first anniversary.
A year and eight months later, Jon rented the Lady Patty sailboat for a cruise around Tilghman Island. An hour into their trip, Jon proposed. When they returned to the dock, Anne Marie was surprised to find both of their families waiting for their return with Champagne and balloons to celebrate.
For their September wedding, Anne Marie and Jon took advantage of the warm temperatures by hosting their celebration in the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club’s sunken garden, which they enhanced with a cigar bar. Moscow Mules were the drink of choice, while sliders served as snacks later in the night.
At the end of the night, after dancing to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” and serving slices from their three-tier gold cake, the happy couple departed for their Italian honeymoon.
