G Street Food Has Closed in Dupont

Two other branches remain open.

G Street Food is closed in Dupont.

The lower Dupont location of G Street Food has closed. A manager at another location confirmed the shutter at 1120 19th Street is permanent; sister operations near the White House and McPherson Square remain open.

The casual lunch spot has changed hands since its inception, having started out years ago as a Mark Furstenburg (Bread Furst) project. There’s no word yet on who may be taking over the space, though permits on the door show the interior is set for demolition. The particular stretch of 19th Street has seen significant dining changes over the past year, with several openings like DC Pizza, Sophie’s Cuban, Noodles & Company, and GRK. We’ll see what’s next.
